might also try setting your cluster to 10 and see if it gives you an edge. generally, leaving 2 physical cores available is optimal with compressor and after effects multi-core rendering.

are you seeing multiple sections of the video being encoded in batch monitor?

[Jason Brown] “Does anyone know why/if Windows media player can or will play h264?”

    no.

for us here, we ask our clients if its a mac or pc that will be viewing the approvals.

    mac gets h.264
    pc gets windows media

if they need both, we make both.

nobody has complained in 2 years.

when that happened to me I believe the fix was to upgrade or downgrade whatever current kona driver is running.

[Jason Brown] “How much? I’ve been using -6db…but think -7 would work too.”

it all depends on how compressed it is.

lower it until it gets to the average area.

I’m surprised the number of “film” student graduates who submit tv spots or music videos for airing with audio slammed at zero.

they can be lower but should not exceed that level.

  • [Michael Gissing] “Don’t forget frame controls to get best resizing from HD to SD”

That’s what almost everyone does forget.

and the reason they look good out of Vegas is that it uses bicubic resizing when it exports footage, something final cut is sorely lacking.

    yep, shot on RED.

We do the ADR for Leverage (it’s shot here in Portland)

“The Studio Job” episode was shot at our facility, Directed by Jonathan Frakes using our own Studio 1 surround suite as “Kirkwood Records” recording studio. That was a fun week around here.
