Did you ever solve this issue? I’m doing the same thing, and based on the specs you outlined, probably with the same vendor as well (PhonePeople).

The specs they provided are not working for me:

– uLaw format (also known as G.711 format) – NOT WAV or MP3
– mono
– 8000 hz (this is absolutely critical)
– 8 bit (16 bit does not work and will sound like static)
– files should be normalized to about -12db RMS loudness

For my sound editor, I’m using Audacity and importing WAV files to convert.

If you have any solutions, I’d really appreciate it.
