Are you using 2-pass VBR? Try single pass instead. 2-Pass is all screwed-up. I wonder when Apple is going to address this issue.

How would you capture faster than real-time? Run the camera in fast-forward?

Try Single-Pass VBR. Even CBR should be fine at that high of a bit-rate. 2-Pass VBR is Compressor 2 is broken….at least in my case.

Sometimes Motion Blur works for me.

First of all, assuming you are viewing an SD image, the resolution is only 720×480, so if you are viewing it full-screen, you are blowing it up to about four times it’s size. Secondly, you are viewing an interlaced NTSC image on a non-interlaced RGB monitor. For best results, you should view on an external NTSC monitor.

A lot of folks, including myself are having these problems with Compressor 2’s 2-pass VBR, including myself. Try single-pass VBR, and see if that solves your problem.

Have you done the Multicam tutorial? That did the trick for me.
