    I know this is an old thread but I wanted to thank you very much for your comment above because I think it just saved me from something I have been struggling with. I could not figure out why I was still rendering ‘blah’ 1080p video when both my project and render settings were set to 1080p. Well because of your comment I realized that when I was building my project I had my project settings set to what it opended up with which was 720×480. I didn’t know that changing the project settings later to a higher resolution would not automatically make everything in there to that higher resolution but rather its what the project setting was set at when the clip was added that matters. Unfortunately I didn’t understand this until after I had about 30 hours into making a video that I thought was completed. The video quality is so important to me though that I’m going to start it over. I don’t think it will take as long the second time and I’ll fix some things I didn’t like about the first edit.
    I looked everywhere for an answer to this and am thankful I read your post.
