I don’t use Sonic DVD, when I installed Xpress HD, I tried it out but wasn’t impressed with the interface or the features, I still haven’t found anything that is better than Spruce Maestro – unfortunatly its discontinued. I understand your disapointment with the encoding software that ships with Avid, but don’t let that discourage you too much. Avid is still the industry standard and although you’re only on Xpress if you go to a Symphony or Nitris you will alread have a heads up on the interface. You can get procoder from http://www.canapus.com, its a little pricey but well worth the investment if you want good image quality. Hope that helps!

    Hey Mr. Jones,

I also had that problem – the solution is to not use Squeeze software that’s bundled with AVID, I find its a poor encoder to DVD other things it does fine, like wmv, qt, etc. I’ve upgraded to Procoder, and that works wonders. Hope that helps.
