Thanks, Steve! Transcoding to ProRes would definitely compress the files. Are you suggesting this for the offline editing purpose only?

thanks steven… i’ve always used the text editor for simple task like subtitling. I tried to isolate the problem by using another sequence format. it worked perfectly well. Now, I’m guessing it could be the codec i’m using for footage shot on 7D
