I know this is an old post, but I wanted to add my experience considering we are still getting this error in CC 2014. After much headache and cursing, it appeared to be an effect only supported in 8bpc (Motion Tile, I was in 16). I do believe the error can stem from an array of variables, but in this case killing off that effect cured the error. Just something to consider!
