We are on FCPX 10.4, BM latest Desktop Video 10.9.7, BM UltaStudio output to FSI Monitor.
Video stuttered when A/V Output option is turned on, especially at the start of the sequence.

    Anyone got it solved?

We just installed a new suite with FCPX 10.4 and the stuttering happens when A/V Output option is turned on. Especially bad at thestart of the sequence. I’m interested to know how others overcame this issue since FCPX is used professionally in editing suite. Does replacing BM with AJA output card solve the problem completely?

We are on FCPX 10.4, BM latest Desktop Video 10.9.7, UltaStudio output to FSI Monitor.
Harddrive is fast, speed is not an issue. We also make sure the sequence settings matches BMD video desktop setting.

    Thanks!

November 4, 2016 at 2:46 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC and Adobe app updates

As usual, every update, minor or major, is a beta test for it’s user. One example, Adobe has taken years trying to solve the well documented memory leak problem, and guess what, CC2017 version is still leaking. They should solve the fundamental problems before rolling out versions after versions of buggy updates. Seriously, what’s the use of all the bells and whistles if the programme keep crashing. Just look at the complaints in Adobe forum , and all Adobe did was to advise us to roll back to the earlier version. So today you update to their latest bestest version, come tomorrow, be prepared to roll back again.

  • It’s a known problem. As of today, there’s no solution from Adobe and Nividia.
Here’s a long thread in Adobe forum.

The work around as suggested by Adobe and Nividia is to disable CUDA and use OpenCL until they can find a solution. It’s been a while though, disappointing.

I think 9 nodes on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX looks very respectable for a one man shop like mine.
IMHO, I don’t think my client will care much whether it’s running on an imac or macpro.

I think this is a good interim solution for me while waiting for the supposed new macpro.

    Hi Dave,

I’m planning to order the same card for my 2006 macpro. Would love to hear your feedback on the card.
I’ll be thrilled just to squeeze out 3 nodes of realtime on my 2006 vintage macpro.
