Thanks, Paul. I can’t thank you enough for all your advice. I will not replace the fuse size.

Here is my setup that I am looking to finalize.

I am thinking about buying a Fora DCC-70HS and a professional monitor for color correction and to make real-time adjustments. I haven’t bought them yet; they are next on the list, good idea?

What do you think? Will this setup result in good picture quality? Will there be sync issues with audio?

I also have a Mitsubishi HS-MD3000E-T with TBC, and the picture quality is brilliant. It’s a bit sharp, but the quality is excellent.

    SETUP:

    1. VHS (JVC VCR S VHS SR-S388E) – S VIDEO OUT to
    2. S VIDEO IN (FS1) – SDI OUT to
    3. SDI IN (Fora DCC-70HS) – SDI OUT to
    4. SDI IN (AJA Ki Pro HD/SD Video Recorder)

    For the audio:

    1. JVC Video Machine RCA Audio Out to RCA to XLR Male Analog Audio Adapter.
    2. XLR Male Analog Audio Adapter to Van Damme DB25 to 8x Female XLR Cable.
    3. DB25 Cable to FS1 Analog Audio In.

    To add the professional monitor:

    1. SDI OUT (Fora DCC-70HS) to SDI IN (Professional Monitor) using a 75 Ohm BNC Cable.
    2. SDI OUT (Professional Monitor) to SDI IN (AJA Ki Pro HD/SD Video Recorder) using another 75 Ohm BNC Cable.

    Hi Paul, thanks just ordered.

I presume I should change the fuse to a 3A rather than the 13A to match the FS1?

    Charles.

    Hi Paul,

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I really appreciate your advice and have purchased all the items.

I have taken the gear out of the loft and started going through each item. I just noticed that my AJA FS1 has no AC power leads (x2).

    The AJA FS1 should be plugged into a 3-prong AC Power Supply (100 to 240VAC, 0.3A, 50/60Hz) with a power consumption of 25W (30W maximum) for FS1.

I have been trying to find the lead online but have had no luck.

I was wondering if any members have any spare leads for sale or can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks, Charles

Also Paul Thurston and all, should i use the XLR method with this:

I wouldn’t even know where to start with a video switcher that has a composite in and outputs Serial Digital Component interlace SDI out!!!!! I seen this but that would just be a pipe dream at those costs. https://broadcasteurope.dk/shop-m-pro-broadcast/1309-video-miscellaneous/13919-for-a-dcc-7000-advanced-color-corrector/

    Much appreciated for any assistance.

Hi Paul, Thank you for your great comments. I am a newbie, just getting started.

I have an AJA FS1 and an AJA Ki Pro HD/SD Video Recorder.

So my plan was the following:

VHS (JVC VCR S VHS SR-S388E) S VIDEO OUT to

S VIDEO IN (FS1) – SDI OUT to

(AJA Ki Pro HD/SD Video Recorder) and export the Apple ProRes to a PC.

I was wondering: can you use the AJA Ki Pro as a pass-through and export through the HDMI output? I have an AverMedia EzRecorder 310, which is quite an impressive recorder through HDMI (H264), but the audio is only 256 kbps. I do have a H.264 Pro Recorder BM; could you use the AJA Ki Pro SDI to BM H.264 Pro Recorder and then output to HDMI? Reading a lot of stories and H264 (progressive) is probably not the way forward for analogue, and the PC is the best way.

I am totally lost with leads and the best ones to use; the fact that you have mentioned 75-ohm BNC video cables and switcher colour correctors has thrown me off. Are these what you mean?
