It’s probably because the master tape has LTC and VITC timecode that are different…When you jog, the deck uses/shows you VITC…With a tape like that, I would use control track to set the in/out points on the master to get the edits done…

Bob, come check them ALL out in one place before they become obsolete…I invited you to Chicago to see us..No response from you…It’s cold up here…Will you invite us down to Florida to warm up?

I wake up in the middle of the night and hear 1 kilohertz tone…
When I close my eyes, I see color bars (of course I’ve calibrated my eyes on a professional scope).

When I wake up in the morning, some kid in an art program in college delivers me a Quicktime and says it’s ready for broadcast…Then I show it to him on a waveform monitor and vector scope and he sees his project only exists on his LCD. He goes back to his dorm room to snuggle with his iMac and figure out what broadcast specs really are….

Two months later, the same person ends up moving out of video and in to banking and lives on Wall Street and finally realizes that video wasn’t his calling….

We still do Betamax! transfers here at TeleVersions in Chicago.
We can also upconvert your Betamax! tapes to either 1 inch or HDCAM SR…or even that DVD format everyone loves….

See our website for a list of formats we support.

Recently, I did the final online for something that was finished in 35mm in the early ’80s and recently transferred to HD…My client wanted me to Photoshop out the film dirt specks and grain for the first 10 minutes of the program and bring them back in to the final edit….Don’t ask how many frames I had to fix…You don’t want to know…But there is a “magic” version of Photoshop out there?

Where are they being delivered for broadcast and what are the specs that they require? I wouldn’t finish anything in MPEG2 format unless I had to or it was destined to be a DVD. Let us know what the end result of the commercials are and what the delivery specs you have been given are and we can help you.

I’m just glad that your dog, Remington Von Doggenhauser, is part of your “Cow look” now. He’s a good boy and I know he is more than willing to “represent” you on the Cow and in real life. Give him a friendly smack on the butt for me, Jeremy. That hound has found a welcome place as a shop dog in at least two places in Chicago now….

If he starts his own post house in the near future, I’d hope we would both have a job there. 🙂

I want to have a beer with “said” dog. I love West Coast Pale Ales. I bet CowDog does too.
