If you already have footage that you shot with the LPCM audio setting on and you can’t reshoot than you will have to download the Sony Vegas Pro free trial to be able to do any editing and rendering. It has a bit of a learning curve, but is good software once you get the setting right and find the commands you want.

For future recordings set your audio setting on your camera to dolby from here forth or give into Sony and buy Vegas Pro after your 30 trial expires. Not sure yet if CS5 premiere can handle LPCM audio yet.

    Good luck,

This link is worthless from Sony. I read it when I got my NXCAM in trying to make sure all was right for my workflow….. BUT WHAT SONY FAILS to inform you is that LPCM audio in not compatible with Premiere Pro CS4 and that Premiere Pro CS4 users should set their new NXCAMs to Dolby Digital for proper playback of audio when importing into Premiere Pro CS4. I am dealing with this same issue.

Sony promotes LPCM audio and then when you think your doing right all you get is a loud HISSSS from the audio after importing to Premiere Pro CS4.

What a monkey wrench! I have 5 hours of footage I have to work on that was captured in LPCM audio. I have contacted Adobe Support so hopefully I can get a solution that works.

If any one has a solution please advise.
    Thanks

    Chad
