I found that I was either spot on or 1 frame out and to rectify this, had to move my timeline by -2 frames and in point for print to tape by +1 frame. Hit and Miss.

I find it insane that delivery must be on 1080i50. Why we can’t deliver on 720p50 is beyond me.

We are also running into problems when shooting 50p mode and delivery needs to be 50i. Whether 720p50 or 1080p50. When editing we need to make sure that the edit point is not on a “b” field. With FCP, set the TC to 50 over 25 and a “b” field will show as a *. All editors must then add one frame to the edit point or subtract one from from the edit point.

Who else has had this delivery problem?

    I resolved my error 88.

Timeline of 720p50 and edit to tape on Panasonic 1400 using Multibridge Extreme 720p50 8 bit.
I changed the device settings in audio/video settings to frame rate of 25. Problem solved.

    Try this…

Open a new sequence as a Apple Pro Res 422 HQ.

Drop a 720p60 clip into the sequence and when it asks if it should change the seq to clip settings say yes. the drop in the other clips and see if this goes away.

    Let us know the result

I find the best thing to do is download the P2CMS software from the panasonic.net website. It is free software they wrote and works well. It works on Mac or Windows. It stands for P2 Content management system….

The good thing about this is that it transfers the P2 media as MXF and you can log and transfer it to FCP later and you can view your clips as a MXF. You can also use this software to name clips etc.

Get your media onto the hard drive first and later I can help you with the FCP problems.

I have also general error 88. Using AJ-HD1400 DECK. FOOTAGE 720P50 SHOT ON AJ-HDX900E. FCP 6.0.2 OS 10.11.

Deck will not display time code with 50 frames, only 25. The Time lime shows time code as 50 fps. I am using Sequence settings aa Apple ProRes 422 HQ and set to the material placed on it.

When I edit to tape, General Error 88 displays.

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
