Well Peter I am a cross Avid and FCP guy who is well versed in both and also had your horror. It isn’t FCP at all, it is the Mac OS and 8 core machine. They have a permission problem. I am repairing permissions once a week now. I have never had to do that before and have been on Mac since the quadra. Keep the faith, with state of the art comes state of distress.

this is the monitor I am going with, FSI LM-2450W, it is $5K but I need to do some critical color work. I really need a $15K monitor but budgets being what they are I am stuck in this price range. I can always rent a monster when I need it I figure.

I am actually looking for a monitor, narrowed down to the Panasonic BT-LH1760 17″ for $4500, the JVC DTV24L3D – $3500, the cinetel cinemage 2000 (expensive and also bad at SD which still pops up for commercial work) and the LM-2470W – $9,000. ANyone have one of these?

I am doing the same search right now. Let me know what you go with please, I will do the same for you. I have been from $150 – $5500 displays today and am narrowing down!
