    I haven’t.

If you want to send me 5 frames… email me at captmench AT mac DOT com and I’ll be happy to take a look. I’m also on iChat with that same name … just not the @mac.com part — unless you are using AIM then you’d have to put it in… if that makes sense.

It might be part of the adaptive frame option in Compressor… you used compressor to do this all?

Cause the tutorial uses Shake and refers to the fact that you can do it IN compressor… it’s just a few hidden steps.

If I can get it — it would be as simple (I think) as creating a droplet and emailing you back a 250k program and you drag and drop your footage into that.

    Let me know.

BTW — I’m getting some feedback that this might actually not be possible with the material you have… but I’d sure love to see for myself.

QT7 worked fine with FCP 4… but 4.5 was a free upgrade and you should probably take advantage of that release.

    Good luck,

I talked to Steve about this and he agreed that he would wait so I had another 3 months to say, “Yes, I bought the fastest computer on the earth.”

    After that, all bets off.

Interesting though by Gary down a few posts…

Never thought of it that way… dbl check your requirements before attempting anything in 24… even if it CAN be done… sometimes it SHOULDN’T.

Not sure about the 1080 bit… a bit over-kill for what I do, so I’ve never ‘played’ with it or wondered why it wasn’t there.

Yes – 24 is an option over 23.98. I just chose that, again, because it’s closer to what I do. For my example in Shake it’s just a matter of typing in 24 over 23.98 – in compressor you MIGHT have to force feed it the number if it doesn’t come up on the pulldown options (I forget if it does or not) but that just means typing it in by hand… no big deal.

But either way, Cinema Tools will conform the 60 to 24 regardless. It just counts frames.

You must have been typing the above when I rudely posted my below. I’ve been curious to see if this was actually helpful – didn’t mean to scare you into a reply.

Did my post kind of help with the 60i to slow motion workflow? Did it make sense for you to try it that way?

How slow do you want to get?

Here’s an interesting take on the ins and outs of using Shake (or Compressor) to do the same:

The AlexMitchell link isn’t good anymore… but it’s easy to do in Compressor… just use the same idea. Ask back if you need a helping hand though.

And — if all the above fails…

    “Did I turn off something…”

Load the affected clip into the viewer and click the FILTER tab… then see if indeed there is a check in the box next to widescreen matte.

    Good luck,
