That search should give you some good results here…
My technique is to photoshop out some layers… either with mask painting or extract filter or magic lasso… depends on what I’m doing it on. Then put those in different layers and paint in the background.
The most I’ve done is 6 layers of a wedding party at the altar. Drove me nuts.
Usually when I do it I figure about 30 minutes per picture.

The best card for the money is the X1900… the Quadro just isn’t worth the $$ for the upgrade.
NOW — that all was true under OSX.4… and 4 processors. Not sure what that might act like in leopard.
But for now… go with the x1900.

Did you check out my answer above?

I really think you had the answer…
First – the render problem.
When you get the warning you did it means that your WORK AREA is set to 1 frame.
The N/B keys will change that — kind of in and out points. On your comp window’s timeline above where all the layers are there will be two lines… one very thin one at the top that is the zoom view and the second one just below that that has two blue bars (or one bar if you’ve got them so close together). Slide the right side one over to the right and that will give you more room.
Now — the tutorial/camera move question…
I’d actually probably do some other tutorials first if you are trying to learn AE. Jumping right into this is a bit advanced. If a keyframe is set somewhere on the timeline and you later (or before) change position of an element – here a camera – then it will automatically set a keyframe. If one hasn’t been established and you WANT to make one… click the stopwatch. DON’T click the stopwatch again unless you want to remove all keyframes… instead, use the little keyframe add thingie to the left of that.
Anyway — it’s all in the manual too.

Wow — mixed bag of emotions trying to answer that question.
Of course… the “Hey, what plugin did you use for that effect?” is usually answered with “go home! I spent 21 hours doing that piece by piece.”
YET — there are plugins out there like Trapcode’s (and others) that give you added functionality in AE that you won’t find on your own in there.
AND — other plugins like the Magic Bullet suite (and others) GENERALLY are things that you could create on your own using the plugs you are given by Adobe.
SO — don’t worry about not learning AE because you’ve bought all these plugins… worry that you didn’t use AE because you never USE AE.
Yes?

This is my fault – please don’t ban him. I’m the one who started the nastyness not him. Don’t give me special treatment in this forum!!
I’ve got all the information I need if this needs to be removed.

Absolutely.
“Late night ‘ticked-off’ trying to finish a ‘free-bee’ project for a farewell who-needs-this” kind of attitude — if I offended, sorry (except for Arson XL).
AND — for what it’s worth and so there’s no more confusion… and NO – I’m not a hero worshiper… I love what Andrew’s done for the AE community… and I was perfectly content wallow in my own misery called AE Skill UNTIL I started watching (yes, and buying) Kramer’s stuff.
