Try connecting both composite in and out of the Junction Box to the Betacam’s composite out and ref in.

Yep, as Floh suggested, installing a SATA card and using SATA drives is another option and I believe a better one than using FW drives. some of my customers experiencing problems with FW drives eg, FW drives not detected. I’ve installed SATA card on two machines and so far they are working fine. Media 100i v7.5.1 OS 9.2 on G4. However, as Floh pointed out, there seem to be a conflict with the Realtime FX board. Took that out and SATA drives works perfectly!

Thank you all for your responses. I’ve got the reply from Media 100 that “SD 16:9 video out is anamorphic so you need to run it through a router or some other device to give you your letterboxed look” So it seems we can’t get that letterboxed look directly output from the Media 100HD. Looks like I need to get an aspect ratio converter or something.

Have you tried trashing away the Media 100 Preference ? Do a search for Media 100 preference. It could be due to corrupted preferences. Then start with a new project. From past experience, the IDE drives still can handle up to 2:1 compression.
