One reason Apple have an advantage is that they don’t have to make there OS run on a huge number of hardware configurations unlike Microsoft, I’m not sure Apple could even handle what MS have to do with every OS update.

I personally prefer to be able to update my computer as I go, for the cost of the parts and with that you accept and understand the job MS actually have to do to make there OS work whatever I may throw at it.

Pci Express out performs PCIX pure and simple in so many ways.

Just have to find a decent board with an X4 slot, if ya go Pentium D route there are only 2 boards and one sucks, I’m about to try the other, the nice dual Xeon board is a Supermicro, it’s a cost issue as to which you go for.

Erm wouldn’t the deck be for the new JVC HDV camera that is the only small camera of any use to the EBU’s choice of 720P ??

I would buy a Decklink tommorrow if you supported all the forms of 720P

The player is the JVC BR-HD50E

    Recording formats are 720p/24, 720p/25, 720p/30, 576p/50, 576p/25, 576i/50
