Thanks that helps alot and yes i do record on the xbox 360 setting on my hauppague. I didnt know that it was bad. And yea im looking into getting an i7. Thanks you helped alot

actually my clips im working with are mp4 and im getting them in full 1080×720 HD off of a PVR off of my xbox. It edits easily at first but after adding more and more effects it starts to slow down then eventually just starts saying vegas is not responding. I have the 32 bit version of vegas so could upgrading to the 64 bit help? and also i have an intel i3 540 processor. and i dont think its the best processor for editing in HD?
