Sorry if this sounds dumb but how I do check to see if my drives are USB 2 or 3 etc?

I’m curious whether or not I could also store my video files into dropbox and work on final cut x projects from the Dropbox? I have two large Hard Drives and I sometimes don’t want to lug them around when i’m traveling.

Aside from iTunes though it seems to run faster if I edit video on a separate drive.

My macbook pro is actually a refurbished used model that was upgraded by an apple retailer. It has 4 gigs of ram and I don’t believe it has thunderbolt. I will try separate hard drives. All my apps are on the internal drive. I do have all my iTunes stuff on my internal drive on the macbook. would that slow anything down? I literally have over 25 Gigs of iTunes stuff. I will give a test of separate drives and see if it’s better.

that’s interesting. Disabling the second audio track fixes it. Why would that be?

I have m-audio BX5 studio monitors connected via Mbox which is for Pro Tools but I’ve selected my main audio output to be MBOX so everything on my computer plays through my Mbox and out of the Monitors. I also played the Final Cut X video through my Macbooks audio and connected headphones via my macbook and there is distortion there as well. So it’s not just the studio monitor setup either and it’s not happening on the camera.

yes, how do I separate my events into multiple events? Once I do so can I delete the files from the event i’m not longer using?
