    It depends on what you want to use the raid for? there are multiple types of raids. Give us a call at Maxx Digital and I am more than happy to give you some advice on selecting one that fits you wihtout spending big bucks.

    Kiki,

    Speed wise Raid 0 is great but you wont get the same amount of available storage as Raid 5. Now even if you’re mirroring with say Raid 1, you’ll need more external drives since the storage capacity goes down. If you have anymore questions feel free to contact me directly.

    Bob is correct, leave it RAID 5 you wont hit any problems along the way with trying to back up and store info. I also recommend getting extra storage. If you have anymore questions feel free to give us a call at Maxx Digital and we can assist you with any problems you encounter.

    The lacie 5 big RAIDS aren’t a bad product but they do happen to fail often. IF you’d like call me at 714-519-8451. We can discuss other alternative products, you may like that are more efficient.
