Hey Dan, I came across this while working on the script you helped out with for resizing layers based on alpha. I think this is the last piece of the puzzle for me, and I’m trying to figure out how to use this code to align to center and not the left edge. I see x=0 which I understand is 0 on x axis so that is the edge, and adjusting it does shift everything over, however I’m trying to figure out how to get the logos to shift from center. So 1 logo would be center, two logos would be next to each other, three would be one center and one on either side, etc.

Oh no, wait! My mistake. It IS scaling it properly, but its position changes a little bit, so I have to go in and manually reposition it to be in line with the other logos.

Here’s an image to help illustrate what I’m talking about (disregard their position to each other, and rather look at the negative space between the bounding box and the actual content on the top logo vs. the bottom logo with a tight bounding box:

Applying the expression doesn’t scale it properly. It gets sort of close, but not close enough.

Ok, went in and changed width to height and visa versa in your script, and everything seems to be working out well for logos that have no extra white space in them (ie proper bounding boxes around the logos). However, throwing in one that has some padding maybe at the top or sides (like a psd of a logo that is off center and then saved and brought in) does not seem to scale up properly which makes me wonder if its actually analyzing the alpha channel properly.

Cool, although I notice this uses width, and I would prefer using height. Is it as simple as swapping out “width” for “height” in the above code you’ve provided? I tried swapping out elements and they seem to dynamically resize properly based on the expression, so that part is working really well. Thanks for your help on this Dan.

Fantastic Dan, thank you. I was looking through Adobe’s script reference and saw that .property(“ADBE Text Properties”). section, but couldn’t figure out how to get it to work for my current code.

Do you know how to get the postscript name of the font? Just typing in “Helvetica” doesn’t seem to work, and I notice the postscript name is different from the actual name that appears in the character palette.

This is incredible! This is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately im not completly savvy on C4D just yet, and so many of the elements that went into this im a bit timid to. When your site is back up, ill be sure to read the tutorial on it. Until then, I may as well play around with it and keep a backup copy for when I butcher it up.

    Again, thank you very much.
