Walter, good reminder for static page credits. I’ve done this in the past when rolling credits were not suitable for the short screen time allowed. And I will look into “end crawl” at a later date. Trying not to spend additional money unless necessary.
Sebastian, great link for tips (your link is below my reply, for some reason). They’re not the “end all” solution, of course. But they help in little ways, where it counts.
With everything I did: condensing the credits, shrinking size, simple font (helvetica here), subtle “reduce interlace flicker” (softness of 1 worked for me), “off-white gray” instead of pure white, and no greater than 3 pixels per frame… I’d say these credits – for scrolling – turned out the best they could.

Because I don’t think mushy & illegible text will fly with Lifetime network (nor am I in any position to tell them I can’t follow their request).
Anyone else have further advice / tips for this thread? I feel like there should be a relatively easy way to solve this seemingly simple task. How else does anyone get professional credits done?

Thank you Dave, Walter and Steve. These suggestion definitely helped! And thanks for the tip on not using 100% white. I didn’t know that, but it does make a difference.

It must be misreading the video timecode. Should I be fixing this through Davinci? Or Premiere? How might I get the imported XML to read the video timecode?
Thanks to anyone who has suggestions or advice on this.

No, the files themselves were manually labeled with “Merged” at the end, probably to denote that the raw video/audio were synced or “merged” together by the asst. editor for the editor’s purpose. The mention of merged has nothing to do with nesting.

I’ll look into that after what we’re currently attempting.
I’m under the impression that different path destinations are the issue. My client has been working off a hard drive, then switched to working off their laptop instead. They copied the project into a new hard drive, which I’m working with, but I believe that the project’s path should be set to my hard drive, that way it should relocate everything.
If that doesn’t work, then yes, it could be an issue with the timecode.
Pardon my little experience on the matter, but what would be the best way to make sure the XML is reading the Video TC instead? Would that be solved in the “config” options when first creating a new Davinci project?

Thanks for all the feedback, guys! While I have a resume, I feel it never hurts to also have a reel for any position you’re stepping into. And on more specific note, I will definitely look into separating my reels based on projects (scripted vs documentary, etc). Thanks again, everyone.

Thank you for all your help. My problem was solved! By using your template for the mushroom with Particular, I figured out how to have an image fly toward the screen, leaving a trail behind it. I didn’t end up using Displacement. Instead I used an Adjustment Layer with Vector Blur attached, mapped to the Particular null, and then placed a Fast Blur inside the Particular null as well, thus giving a warped effect like you see below.
Again, thank you very much! I made sure to mark down the instructions on how I accomplished this, so I will have it for next time I need it. I might make a tutorial at some point.

Thank you. The colorful mushroom trail you did is almost exactly what I’m looking for!
Now that we have that established, I have one final question. Below is a video that shows exactly what I want the “trail” to look like.

The trail that is left by those bullets – a transparent, “liquid” sort of texture – is what I want for the star, to have that trail expand and disappear as the star goes along. The actual bullet trail in that video was done with Particular, but can it be done when tampering with Stroke Effect and/or Echo Effect?
