viewing it with Get Info only gives general information about the file, it does not display the files contents. The THM is carries the specs for the footage it represents. I dont need to view it as a jpeg, but rather be able to view the actual metadata so I know the settings I used for shooting that clip.

Thanks, I will look into lenses and see what I can afford. Also, I do have Magic Bullet’s Denoiser but the render times on that are insane lol. Thanks for the help.

Hi, thanks for reply. I have a Canon 7D with a 28-135mm lens. When I shoot indoor soccer games, i usually gets lots of noise. I shoot at 60fps so the shutter speed is 1/50 usually. My fstop is set to 3.5, or the lowest it goes in video mode and the ISO I try to keep below 2500.

I’ve yet to shoot on a nice sunny day so maybe its just my lighting conditions. My apartment, pictured above also has low lighting at night. But I have seen amazing work shot at night. Maybe its my lens?

Yes I want to become a videographer. At the moment I have three clients, two of which are sports shooting and the other is a band. I am a full time assistant editor but lack experience behind the camera.

I’m looking to build a website/portfolio in the upcoming months so I need to get as much work as possible. I usually shoot weeknights and weekends. I really enjoy it so I’m not even charging the band, and I have complete creative control with them. Hopefully it will lead to more work with other musicians.

This community is great, big help!

Thanks for your reply and perspective. We ended up agreeing on a price, lower than I would have liked but I really want the job because I know it can lead to more work which will lead to experience and additional income.

You’re right that these guys want a videographer but will settle for a dad’s video camera so I need to be flexible for now and just get work.

Thanks for the advice. The DVDs will require a little editing but I don’t mind authoring/encoding them. As for the 7D, I just stop and start recording during times when the game stops, like when the ball is out of bounds. Haven’t had any issues other than some noise but I’m learning how to get a better picture.

I will now google some rates, thanks again.

Thanks for your reply. I initially charged $80 for the soccer games because the job came from a friend so I met him halfway where he can afford it. Now people see me filming and inquire about hiring me to shoot their games as well.

A problem I often face is people don’t know how much work is required on my part to film and put something together so when I give them a price they think its too high. Now, someone left me a voicemail inquiring about my services and I want to give him a fair price but I’m not sure what that might be.
