  • Ok this is embarrassing – after more digging and trying to find out what was going on, I had an inkling to check my disk space. And I was out of disk space, which was causing this issue. Cleared up as soon as I deleted a few gigs. Hope this comes in handy for someone else!

UPDATE: Since I edit off an external drive, I plugged it into my husband’s machine, and it is MUCH better. Not sure if it’s a calibration issue? Either way, that seems to have resolved my problem, and I haven’t had any issues on my machine with the new project I’m currently working on. Perhaps I had something funky in the project settings I hadn’t paid attention to. Nonetheless, hopefully this is of some help to someone else in the future.

I know this post is a little old, but I had the same problem and figured out how to fix this, so hopefully it will come in handy for someone else (at least it worked for me):

You have to make sure the track you want to navigate around with the arrow keys is toggled on (click on the little V1, or A1, or whatever track you are working on, on the left side of the timeline). I had accidentally toggled the track I was working on off somehow (I’m sure it’s easy to do since it’s just a click to toggle on or off), so I toggled back on and it is working again. Hope this helps someone!

For some reason I can’t figure out how to do a general post on this thread (makes me feel old), but here’s an UPDATE: I removed the effects I had on the clip – I had some shadow and highlight changes and fast color corrector were applied. Once I removed them, the banding went away! I am hoping they don’t return after I send the sequence into Speed Grade. Thank you ALL for your help!!!

So here’s the clip itself, you can see the banding much better in this: 10437_trailer.mp4.zip

The bands themselves flicker. I forgot to mention I tried the field option for flicker removal and that didn’t do anything either. I might just have to nix the design, but thought I would try here (I can’t pony up the $250 for DEFlicker for this project :p ).
