This is super cool. I notice that this always cneters the text when stacked. Is there a way to have the text aligned left or right?
    Thanks

You can try to use the luma from any kind of fractal noise or footage of smoke or fire. I find that the trick to the “ink bleed” is to blur the revealed layer while the luma exposes the underlying layer.

In order for sequence layers to work you need to have multiple layers selected. Then go to the animation tab, under the “Key-frame Assistant” you will find sequence layers option.
It’s the same thing for the “easy ease” functions; you will need to have at least one key-frame selected in order to be able to select the function from the drop-down menu.

Try the Liquify effect under “Distort”. Sounds like you have the right base.

Those expressions rock! Does anyone have a helpful expression, or other quick way, to get the text to only be visible when it is facing a camera?
    Thanks

All you need to do is pre-comp the “Leaf layer” with all of its animated attributes. Then you will need to time remap it to have it stop where you want it to come to rest.

You can try rendering your proxy footage as image strings as opposed to QT’s. I find that large QT’s eat up a lot of memory in AE as opposed to image strings, which seem to be slightly friendlier.
