    Hi Tomi,

Could you share a picture of your 7D rig with the JuicedLink please? This is an option I’m considering for my 7D kit — but I’m not sure how favorable it would be to hand-held, run-and-gun shooting.

    Thanks!

Shane: I did mean the Viewer — my bad. Thanks for your reply — might as well turn down the clips that I keep going back to.

Rob: Thanks for your reply — very helpful. Believe it or not, the source video is STILL much louder than my timeline (it was taken in a metal workshop.) However, this has made a huge difference. Thank you for your reply.

Oh, and we’re still operating in FCP 7 over here… and some people still like their out to be DVD? Hmm…

    Thanks for jumping back in!

I guess that is the old-fashioned (digital) way. I had an internship with a post house where they would have an extra recording of their set audio on cassette(separate of the video,) and I would listen to it and transcribe into Word. The tape players came with this cool foot pedal rig that you could step on to start, stop, and rewind the tape.

For the project I’m doing now, I’m doing “quick-and-dirty” (non-exact) transcribing with Markers directly in FCP. Using the idea outlined in the FCP Lynda tutorial, I intend on taking these markers/notes and turning them into subclips.

An additional question for this thread — how do you prefer to set up your transcribing / take notes within FCP?

Went into “Audio/Video Settings” under application menu of FCP. Turned my Audio to “Built-in Output”; which my tower must not have, because I’m not hearing anything. Now I can have Daft Punk and Yaks — yay~!

    Thanks for your help gentleman.

    Hey Michael,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve wrapped for the day, but I’ll give this a try tomorrow. Didn’t even think of this as a solution, but I’m pretty sure you’re right.
