Aren’t you making that more complex then necessary?

Cant you just make an adjustment layer with a mask the side of the face. Add blur to the adjustment layer and copy over your tracking data???

    a lot less steps.

im going to say one thing that will open up a HUGE can of worms…

ANY good avid editor can plop themselves down on a FCP and be up and running with no training in 15 minutes.
NOT ONE FCP user can come over to avid and have any idea what they are doing without some sort of crash course.

Two completely different interfaces. To one his own, but to say “avid hasnt kept up with 2005’s needs” is rediculus.
Theres a reason Avid still has 70% of the market share for film, broadcast and commercials. FCP makes up for 10% of the remainder… Theres a reason for that. PERDIOD

As some of the above people have pointed out, it would be better to do a capture then to film a CRT monitor. But if you have to, find out if your camera has clear scan. If not and you are shooting 24p, change your shutter speed, sometimes at 24p a shutter speed of 72 can get it very close, you can then also change the refresh rate of the monitor itself, get the shutter speed to 72 and then see if you can match up the CRT with that freequency. You might have to play with different shutter speeds & freequencies, but it should work.
