Thanks Bob! We are definitely looking at Synology and QNAP systems as outright replacements with the associated data migrations, but since we’re already heavily invested in the G-Rack hardware, we’re trying to see if anyone has experimented with mixing in the SuperMicro products on which the G-Rack was based. It may be a viable interim or even long term solution.

    Cheers,

With G-Rack 12 confirmed as EOL, have any users devised their path forward? Since the G-Rack was a reskinned SuperMicro chassis, has anyone experimented with the G-Rack head unit communicating with SuperMicro expansion (storage only) chassis?

I believe G-Rack will be professionally supported through the end of their original 5 year warranty period, fixing issues and patching potential security flaws, though no new software developments will be released.

Just trying to determine the best migration path as we need to expand our dataset, short of outright replacement with something like a Synology or QNAP product.

Hoping for tips from the hive mind.

    Cheers,
    Brett
