The Gigabit Ethernet solution sounds like the go but any recommendations as to what brand? All the NAS servers I’ve seen run way slower than the full ethernet capacity. Also can I run the storage through a router as I need to have internet on the same machine.
I’m looking at the D-Link 2 bay SATA NAS but I can’t get any decent info from local dealers.
Where I live the nearest Apple dealer is several hours away and when I rang them they just said “way too hard can’t help you”

The sequence which is output to DVCam tape is PAL, 720 x 576, Lower Field first (Even) Aspect Ratio CCIR601/DV PAL 5:4 Compressor DV PAL 100% Audio 48 Khz.
The final program is then recaptured into MPEG2 for Playout from the Stations Playbox System.
I have suggested that they give me the mpeg2 specs and I can encode it direct from the timeline but they insist that for the sake of consistency that they do it themselves in house.

Exporting to PAL DV codec in both Streamclip and Visual Hub in Visual Hub I’m exporting using the DV “Ready for FCP” checkbox.
I will try exporting progressive and then setting the field order in FCP that might fix it.

I’m having the same problem. Title 3D shows up in the menu but no styles. The styles are all in the Boris FX folder in the Application Support Folder for FCP 5.1 but nothing shows up.
I tried reinstalling Boris and it made no difference.
Anybody got any ideas as I used to use this pretty frequently.

I see that there’s no response to this post. Isaac, did you get any private response and have you solved your problem?
We’re using Inscriber for our live shows here on our community station in Melbourne but it’s a very heavy learning curve for part timers and we’re desperate to find an easier and cheaper alternative.
Any body out there got a solution or is this one to filed in the too hard basket?

Resolution is just plain old 720 x 576 PAL. Audio setting on capture is set for 48KHZ.

I am capyuring the video from the Video out from my HD TV tuner via my Panasonic camera AV in. From there it goes via Firewire into my Mac using (at the moment) Vidi, I have also used MyVCR, Bearshand and just plain Quicktime Pro. The settings on all is 48 Khz Stereo.
The resultant file when imported into FCP shows up as 48 Khz 32 bit no matter what software I’m using.
Rending in the timeline wouldn’t be too bad except because of the audio the video wont play properly in the viewer to set my edit points. I have to put the whole file in the timeline, render it to convert to 16 bit then export it, then reimport into my bin. With a 2-3 hour file this of course takes ages and when your doing 8-10 times a week it’s taking forever and costing us lots of money.
