    Jack..

I believe I have figured it out. The file on the AE timeline…must be a PS image…not a Tiff or JPEG…etc etc. Even if you bring an image into PS…and save it as a TIFF or JPEG…then jump to AE…and decide that you want to edit the original…if you have saved the file only as a TIFF or JPEG…it will jump (as in my case) to MS Office Doc Imaging…to be edited.

Oh well!!! Thanks for your assistance…hope all your tech problems are small ones.

    Jack,

Thank you for your assistance. When I did double click on the file..”outside of ae”…it did in fact open in Microsoft Office Doc Imaging. I did what you suggested, right clicked and then opened it in PS CS.

Then I closed out everything. Opened AE…brought the same file onto the time line. Went to edit..scrolled to “edit original”. and when I clicked this time…I got that notice that AE could NOT find the program that the file was created in. The file is a simple PS JPEG file. Should I attempt to take off Office and reinstall?…or reinstall Adobe Creative Suite?

    So many choices…so little time.

    Thanks,
