Thanks for your previous reply, to my request for advice from the Premiere forum site. I haven’t had a chance to really dive into the project again for a couple of weeks but I’m back now. I still have some questions, and after consulting with a friend who works for Adobe here in Utah, the advice from him and others in the company is the best source for answers is the professional forum moderators. Since you replied previously, I’m hoping that you can advise me as to the below questions and concerns. I know all our time is short, so I will try to be succinct…. I really appreciate your insight.

Situation- It has fallen on me to edit and clean up all the elements from a show our group put on recently. I am a producer and Camera guy- I know how to edit for sure, but it’s been a few years since I really was proficient with the nuances of a NLE editing package. I have been playing around and roughing out the elements of the show using premiere, and also looking at insight and guides online—enough to confuse me about some things, thus my request for some clarifications.

Details: 1hr55min presentation, with musical numbers, voiceover elements, projected keynote graphics pre-packaged video spots projected, and I will have to throw in some transitions and titles.

*Show was recorded by 3 Panasonic AF100A cameras, jam synched, trying to cover different parts of the show ..lots of bad camera moves, etc.. Audio was fed into two of the cameras from a direct audio board house feed (audio sucks but I can deal with that later)
I now need to cut the show together, using the least terrible of the shots, add the better quality actual voiceover tracks, insert the keynote and other video clips and still, and possibly remove one or two numbers due to copyright problems (!) – then add transitions and titles.

Based on online, practice and reviewed help sections it seems I need to:
*Import the 3 main show clips into the project
*Select all 3 clips, putting the one with the best audio first
* R Click create multi camera sequence
*R click on new sequence and open in timeline creating a blue timeline
or
should I select on the new sequence, right click and make new sequence, creating the green multi timeline?

Based on the above described program needs, is it better to edit in regular timeline or multi camera? (I’m guessing multi- so I can see all views and pick the least bad…

After doing a couple of trial loads I can rough cut the show using just the 3 cameras, pushing the record button and then selecting the camera shots …is that the methodology for using multi-camera?

If so-
*Is it better to separate the show into numbers and edit those as separate sequences, adding them into the timeline? If so, edit those as multi camera sequences?
*I can’t seem to get the audio to show waves in multi…what am I forgetting to do?
*When I drop one of the preexisting videos into the multi-time line, the video plays back, but not the audio…
*I’ve been trying to answer this one, but can’t find the answer- after doing a rough edit with the multi-camera, how do I change the location of a cut if I don’t like it or the timing is off? Is that where using J&K and K&L are best?

I know I’ve got a couple of other questions that I can’t remember but this is probably the meat of my questions..

Again, I really appreciate your input …you’re helping a non-profit save a bit of money and me some additional frustration…
