    The new macbook pro with FCS2 seems to have trouble playing out my timeline with xdcam ex 720p/50 or prores422 off my lacie rugged using the firewire 800 port. I don’t like wasting time rendering when all I’d like to do is cut a package in a hurry as I have a couple to do during a day.

    Maybe I need to look into my FCP setup?

    Yes I did search the forums, next time I’ll remember to search the tutorials also.
    Your video was very helpful and I now have a solid understanding.
    I’m thinking of using the prores proxy codec as I only need to organize the edit via laptop with a portable hard drive.
