The black issue is probably your Gallery Stills location being different/not present on both machines.

Are you splitting a self contained file? I don’t see this behavior on round tripped media..

I’ll go through the media folder before importing into Resolve, and use a similar script to add the missing extensions.

I think the ‘Switch Timeline’ would function the same. Just changing to the next timeline (but ideally following whatever hierarchy you’ve constructed with folders, not creation order.)

For features, I can see there not being a big need, but when doing spots, I’ve had projects with 20+ sequences. :60, :30s, :15s, :10s, + Agency versions, Director’s cuts, etc..
The ability to have folders there would certainly be helpful. Even if it’s just another way to be OCD or keep myself organized.

In Resolve 10, edit sizing is adjustable within the Edit Page or within the Edit Sizing drop down in the Sizing tab of the Color page.
In Resolve 9, you can right click on a clip and uncheck ‘Use XML Sizing.’

You likely have to connect to the database to see the project.
Otherwise, have him export the project from his machine, then import it into your current user.

It’s under the Edit page now. Click on a clip in the timeline, and then hit the ltitle icon with a wrench and paint brush and it will reveal those parameters, which you can click the dot to disable, or zero out.

ColorTrace into a new project.

When you make a new sequence, uncheck ‘Empty Timeline’ and it’ll automatically add the footage from the media pool.
