Thanks for the response Jon, well after taking a few test shots around the house I uploaded my shots as HDV 1080p 24 preset in premiere for my sequence. After making subtle changes to my videos I rendered them as MPEG-2 with the HDTV 1080p preset with the pull down option set to 2:3. The video appeared much cleaner then any of the other methods but there was some blurriness. Am I getting quality loss from going from a 1440×1080 source, rendering it to a 1920×1080 mpeg-2 then having Encore transcode it into 720×480 on a normal DVD? In Sony’s literature about the camera I purchased the HVR-V1U it is suppose to have a 1920×1080 video output is this only for playing through the HDMI output or is it for the I-link output also? Im still new at all this.

You are probably right I am not near the computer to check the bitrate but I went into encore and burnt a dvd to test it and played it on a normal dvd player on tv’s and computers and everything worked great. If I put a secondary disk another 640 gig and put the footage on that drive do you think that would solve my problem or would i be better to have a RAID 0 setup
