Your reply to Steve is correct and this leads me to believe that the cause of my rendering issue could simply be an issue of Build (my 371 build vs the latest 701 build) *crosses fingers* Regardless, I appreciate that you’d be willing to test a tiny bit of my media and I will work on uploading that to my dropbox account tonight for easy access.

Upgrading build/version questions:
1) when upgrading to the latest build (pro 11, 701), would my project stay intact or would I have to start all over?
2) when upgrading to the latest version (pro 12), would my project stay intact or would I have to start all over?

Answers to your questions yesterday:
1/- Have you ever done this mix before?
– No, first time

2/- I see you have a mix of interlace and progressive. Have you thought of fixing your project to reflect one of those types? Or how have you set your project to accommodate the differences?
– I’m learning as I go, can you explain how I have a mix? If that means different video media (.MTS vs .MOV) then I have a mix because friends and I used two different cameras when capturing footage. If I need to have all video media the same ‘type’ then I’d have to use 3rd party software to convert all .MTS to .MOV or visa versa? Sorry if I misunderstand this question.

3/- When and where is it choppy? Is it at the break from interlace to progressive?
– This may explain my confusion on above question. If interlace means my non-video media and progressive means my video media, then it is choppy the MOMENT there is a break from interlace to progressive. For example, the first 20-30 seconds of my project is an intro (fade in to image/text with background music etc.) then I break into video and at that moment, it gets choppy/frozen (but I still hear the audio from the video just fine).

4/- Less important but, do you have your media on separate hard drives to your system?
– No, all project files are stored in one directory on my 1TB hdd, then I have sub folders in that directory for Images, Music, Video, etc. and everything imports into Vegas without issue.

5/- Your Build of Vegas11 is Build371. In the White Paper for VP11, I don’t see that Build as part of the dev for VP11? However, the most recent version is Build 701. Is there a reason why you haven’t gone beyond the Build you have? The next/later builds have a MASS of improvements including ACVHD version 2.0. – No reason for not upgrading, but this sounds promising and I will wait to upgrade until further interrogation haha.

Steve – no, the videos behave perfectly on my PC before importing to Vegas.
