I am using 7D and T2i. I guess the primary reason I use MPSC is that I find it much faster than compressor and haven’t really run into any problems with it yet. When batch converting hundreds of clips I find the same it saves to be substantial.

Why ProRes HQ? That seems like overkill to me. I have been using ProRess standard and LT and it seems to work fine.

As for sound I use a Zoom H4N and haven’t had any sync issues – although the clips aren’t very long – (and can’t be more than 12 minutes due to the restrictions of the camera) so it is hard to tell what would happen on an extended clip.

Matt, that seems to do it. I dragged the source video (H.264) and converted ProRes clip into the time line and selected item properties. They both are 29.97 except one is H.264 and the other converted to ProRess 422.

My question was meant more along the lines of matching formats. I am using MPEGStream to covert to ProRes 422, but it only has a 720p option and 1080i option. What is confusing that the camera is shooting 19200x1080p and I don’t know what will happen if I select 1080i export from streamclip when I get into FCP with a ProRes 422 1920×1080 30p time line.

I guess the question I should have asked in what settings in FCP easyset up would I use to go with Canon T2i 1920×1080 30fps?

    I am currently using Apple ProRes 422 LT 1920×1080 30p 48 kHz

Capture and Device I assume do not apply since I am not capturing from Camera.

Would these settings be the best for the workflow with T2i?

    Thanks

I deinterlaced the sequence in the time line and it now plays much smoother when viewed in exported QT on my computer.

I guess I should have stated that I am using FCE so I don’t have ProRes. There doesn’t seem to be a forum for FCE here and I thought the exporting issue would remain the same. Can’t figure out why the clips look so smooth as recorded on the camera and so interlaced after export

    Any help would be appreciated

Then what is the solution? Should I deinterlace when exporting to QT

I’m not sure I understand. When I look at the MOV as filmed on the AVCHD card it plays smoothly even when I view it in QT full screen. It’s only after I export that I see the lines
