    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks again… I’m a bit confused though… if I was laying back to tape, this would make sense… but if I am just trying to deliver a 1080i 29.97 quicktime, and I change my video output format, exported via said format, I would have my 1080i 29.97 QT from a source 108024p sequence… right? Or am i still making this too difficult? Thanks to both of you for your help!

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the response… that makes sense. So I can change playback from the FCP view menu to 1080i 29.97 8 bit (or whatever depth)… and then render an UNXD quicktime master with the Kona setting of 1080i 29.97 8 bit from the export menu… right?

    Hi Russell,

Thank you for the response… I think I overlooked a very simple solution… I have a Kona card and if I render using the intended Kona preset for output, it should add the correct pulldown for me, correct? I’m not using a specific camera, I guess this was just more of a hypothetical question on getting 108024p HD material to 1080i 29.97 if I need to for mastering. Does this sound like the easiest way to do this?

    Thank you!

    Hey Shane,

Thanks for the reply. I’m not sure why… it would seem much easier. So, if I start the spot at an hour, with a minute of slate beforehand, I should stripe the tape with what starting timecode? 58:59:00? or something of that nature? Again, thanks for the reply and for the naive questions!

Nice. This is great advice… I’ll do this so I have this for this future issue.

    I answered my own question…

I remembered I had changed my video preview to 1080i output from my Kona card to preview on my broadcast monitor… changing that back to SD fixed everything. Not sure where the issue lies in that, but I’ll figure that out later.. at least now I can work in real time.
