Never mind.

Adobe Bridge seems to be playing video files now. It wouldn’t in the past for some reason.

Ironically enough I pulled the trigger on this one…BenQ 32 inch, 4K UHD Monitor, IPS Panel, sRGB and Rec. 709 PD3200U Gray/Gloss Gray. Hopefully, it will be good enough.

The overlay data I’m referring to is similar to diagnostic data. If you look at the screenshot the data includes fps, render info, GPU card etc.

That’s the usual go-to answer so for what it’s worth I transcoded a 17:18 clip to DNxHD SQ 8bit. Premiere playback dropped 332 frames. I’m sure it has something to do with my setup since there are not many people chiming in with the same problem…

Forgot to mention my audio settings were set to No Input.
Also stutter happens regardless of playback quality…

I might have that problem as well, don’t know; my footage doesn’t have audio.
I thought I had cracked it by downgrading to version 12.0. Played fine yesterday. Today the stuttering is back making Premiere unusable.

I found a tutorial showing how to display dropped frames…hit the wrench icon (on the bottom right of either monitor by the “In/Out Duration”) -> Show Dropped Frames Indicator. I dropped 562 frames playing the first 30-seconds of a clip.
Must be a problem with my system since no one else has replied…
