Also, I’m looking into getting either a indiSLIDERmini w/Legs or something similar such as the Hague Mini Motion Camera Stabilizer? Is there one that you would recommend? I was told the camp is well light at night and most of my filming will be done throughout the day….

Thanks for all the answers so far, I just want to make sure, if I get the $400 lens, I have more of a ‘film look’ but I can’t zoom in. If I get the standard lens for $150, I won’t have as much of a film look, but I will be able to zoom in?

Okay, thanks that helped! I have another question. I seem to have a problem with rendering in After Effects. The project is pretty big and the render times says over an hour and my mac becomes unresponsive. Even when I cancel the render my mac goes really slow after… If I restart my mac and then render, the render time drops to 5-10 minutes and my computer acts almost normal, just a little sluggish… Any ideas?

Thanks, funny you mention the T2i, just ordered one for myself last night :D. The camp seems to have a pretty large budget, and I would have around 3 months to figure out how to film on a DSLR. Getting a HD camera and a DSLR, sounds like a great idea.

Do you think that the standard lens that come with the canon T2i would be enough to get the quality I want? I have professional Canon telephoto and wide lens at home, but Im not going to bring it to camp….

I’ll be using great Canon lenses at home, and should have great video… Do you think its going to make a difference if I use basic lens on the T2i for the video? If they are not telephoto, would I have to get close to film something, of does it have a decent zoom? The lens I’m referring to are, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens…

I guess the best way to go, is to have a 1440×960 timeline, where my screen capture looks great and then I exported my 720×480 timeline into a regular .Mov video and then imported that into my new 1440×690 timeline

EDIT: So I went with this approach. Made a new timeline, 900×600. This way the screen captured video great and the rest of the video looks a little stretched out, but I don’t think anyone going to notice, since its not too bad…

I just wanted to thank everyone who spent time to try and help me figure this out!

Its a video montage that I’m making, and most of the video in the timeline is home NTSC video and a photo slideshow. The final output is a DVD for a standard TV and for a projector. I just tried using Screenflow with a custom export of 1280×720 , but as soon as I drag it into my 720×480 timeline, the video lost most of it’s quality…
