Possible in post production, but, set 5D mark II on Auto ISO 6400 , the limit could be extended especially for stills, but shoot video at Tv setting at 1/50 or less, recently did video of jazz band in very low level light ( Check level on LCD , use an external stereo mike maybe a RODE. YOU SHOULD HAVE NO LIGHTING ISSUES WITH THIS CAMERA IN A DRESSING ROOM if you set the camera up properly? Ps. Do use a slow lens if possible. Focus manually.
There are plenty of Noise effects etc in Premiere Pro CS5.5.1 or other versions.
There are a large number of Video Effects > Adjustments,> brightness/contrast,> auto,> Highlights/Shadow particularly effective to automatically increase areas by 20% or adjust manually.
Even the top pros do not get it right all the time or are just lazy ?

We are PAL only and shoot at 25fps 1920 x 1080p Setting Tv @ 1/50 sec shutter mainly and -1 Exposure compensation , no loss of quality and smooth video. In Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas it comes up as 50i, there are no issues. On a 5D Mark II should be roughly the same as 7D ?>

Have run 2 for 3 years, got Canon Service to clean sensor on one, once. We do a lot of stills and HD Video 1920 x 1080p and no issues. Send it back to Canon for service, cost about $100 aud, as they left ours at ISO 6400 by mistake, it would be worth checking if that is done as they check everything.We usually run on Auto ISO and -1 Exposure to remove overexposure in highlights ?

Maybe a case for Canon Service. We had a sensor cleaned by Canon and they left the ISO setting as ISO 6400, not Auto after fixing the issue. But, if it is video that problem should not exist, but, check your video speed to say 1/50 sec and not too much faster as recommended by Canon. Our 5D Mark II’s do not behave that way ? Been using them for 2-3 years.

It may be best to use an Image Stabilized Lens ? I transcode to Microsoft avi/uncompressed, there are no compression artifacts , and mostly export to tape at 1440 x 1080 HD or Blu-ray either H.264 or HDV/mpeg-2 , there has been no quality issues with either method, using Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas. Even Premiere Elements 4.Ie., PAL @ 25 fps only

Hi Brent,

Luckily time is not a problem now, more or less retired. Yes Premiere Elements 4 will edit the H.264 but, I really like working in PP, that is why I do it in a convoluted way. Mainly go to Blu-ray now which PP 1.5.1 will not do, and a lot of still Photoshop imaging with a bit of High Definition video basic video editing thrown in, I find it fascinating.

That is interesting as when I trialled it CS5.5 it would capture audio but, not video.I sent it back and went to Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 for the basic editing I do with a stabilizer included ?
I am surprised that CS5.5.3 did not fix the issues
