  • I am glad you had some success , but, Premiere Pro 1.5.1 is 7 years old and was not meant for ( i7 Windows with Virtual PC in XP Mode), but, it still works very well.

You will strike issues with the newer AVCHD, mpeg-4 and H.264 mov codecs if you ever have to use them and PP will crash.

  • Or highlight and open link :https://images.creativecow.net/157057/adobepremierepro1.5.1.jpg

    Good luck.

This shows a Premiere Pro 1.5.1 Project with full audio using an HDV 1920 x 1080 i clip from a Canon HV 20 on a i7 Professional 64 bit Quad Core using a Nvida Quadro FX 3800 video and audio card with XP Windows mode in VP, the Project is recognised as PP running in an XP multi processor

  • The suggestion was only for elimination of your issue with Premiere Pro 1.5, are you using it for SD or HDV. And if HDV, did you upgrade to 1.5.1, and as I say Premiere Pro 1.5.1 runs perfectly well here in a computer nearly identical to yours.
Even though your technical support maybe only for hardware, a good tech should easily solve your audio issue if you just ask them , because ADOBE WILL NOT SUPPORT YOU ON A 7 YEAR OLD VERSION, unfortunately.

    Check Audio Output Device:https://images.creativecow.net/157057/adobepremierepro1.5.1.jpg

Highlight this link and it will open, maybe right click >>
Or better still click on image UPLOAD camera icon under message, you will find a screen dump showing the audio set up , ignore image stabilization icon

It should be Adobe Default Windows Sound 1.5

Never had that occur, check with Canon Service, did you manually focus ?

  • Understand, but, have you tried trial of newer Premiere Pro or Vegas?
PP 1.5.1 does work here on .>
As I said this is a >”Win7 Professional (upgrade) with Virtual PC and XPMode”. a 64 bit computer ?

  • Check with your tech support , I have Dell here, and it would take seconds for them and your tech support for “a brand new computer” to work this out for you

  • Download trial versions of Premiere Elements or PP CS5.5.2 or Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 and see what happens, if any do not work it must be the computer ?? This will not cost anything or try https://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_current

  • Quote:No VM is as good as using a true OS, whether it’s Apple or MSFT. The nature of creating virtuals require emulation of hardware. There is no way to test to all situations, and manufacturers like Adobe rarely ever support VM implementations because of that.

Al, you are probably right, but, all I can say is that after downloading Windows Virtual PC the old premiere Elements 4 ran perfectly in Windows Vista Mode and the 7 year old Premiere Pro 1.5.1 ran perfectly in XP Mode otherwise it said NT6, which lost its files, audio and windows in the new i7 Pro 64 bit.

I have upgraded to CS5.5.2 Premiere Pro and there is a huge difference with the new Mercury acceleration, Wallace may consider this , but, his Virtual PC , XP Mode may not have come out of “hibernation” as we have found with Lotus Word Pro which is 10 years old, and now works very well in a 64 bit i7 Pro computer.
