Good morning Richard, thank you for your response… Sorry to say we have no room at all at this time for the audio man to be moved into the sanctuary area, not to mention the cost to reroute the cabling for the board and all that’s involved in the sound system, so we are pretty much locked in to where we are.I do like the Idea of the Tablet and WIFI hook up…that might be the ticket, Thanks.

  • Aaron Apparently the Canon HV 30 has come to the end of its useful Life, Loved the picture quality of it, was really worth the effort to try to salvage or fix the problem… however the best use of funds would be towards a new card based Camera, BTW our hats off to the Sony Vegas Team! you all are “Tops” when it comes to Problem Solving.
And are certainly a “Blessing to us all” in the video Realm…

  • Hey thanks guys… Yes I verified that the FireWire is working, too bad there’s not a way to capture HDMI output of the camera while playing back the HDV tape, guess I’ll just have to use the camera as a Doorstop, a repair to the FireWire port on the camera would probably cost as much as a new camera!

  • Thank you Bob for your response, yes I have downloaded HDV split and tried it unsuccessfully… Which brings me to the sad conclusion that I must have a dead FireWire port. Just last night I switched the camera settings to just DV output and nothing happened as far as capturing. This is the only camera that we have now that is Mini DV tape, oh well… Thanks again

Thanks for your response John, today we videoed and audio recorded this event… Three cameras and Three Lavaliers as described above, glad to report every thing went great!! Levels were perfect on all three guests, just got through playing back the mix on the Tascam DR-05 When I got back to the studio, getting ready to load in the computer and sync the sound to the vid, appreciate your input!

That’s Correct Richard, there is only an input control for the mic/ext. not a dedicated line or Mic, today I will attempt to contact RadioShack(a lot of them are going out of business in the area) to find an ATTENUATING CABLE. Thanks for the link!! Question ..What kind of hit will I be taking if I still use the headphone jack output?? Is it frequencies that will be compromised?
Please let us know your “input” on this… No pun intended! Thanks!

Thank you for your prompt response, yes I verified it is in “line in” mode and not Mic, so glad to hear I can use the headphone output without taking a hit on the audio quality, BTW I always use headphones to monitor any type of audio project we are doing. Never trusting volume displays only. The Tascam DR-05 has its own headphone jack which I am connected….. to monitor the downstream audio. Life is good thank you Bill!!
