To be clear, we’re all on the same page of the specific problem I’m asking about?

    OSX software striping fails.
    700Mb/s + 700Mb/s (striped) = 500Mb/s.
    It should equal 1200-1400.

I have 2 separate R380 cards. Each with its own RAID5, getting 700Mb/s.

I stripe them together through OSX and I get 500Mb/s. The ATTO cards are clearly working and doing their job correctly. The failure is in the last step.

Thanks, I should have mentioned that as well…
I did a test with RAID0’s instead of RAID5’s, but the results were the same.

The spec sheet shows native RAID50 support, but they don’t actually support it.

Nope its in slot2 on a MacPro 5,1. Which is an x16 slot. And definitely an x8 connection, as verified by the connection speed in the ATTO util and the osx system info.

Marcus, is it working for you?
    If so hardware setup used?

I had the same experience Sasha had with 10.9.0. Haven’t tried the updated version, but got 22fps in resolve. I’m wondering if its because I’m using a Titan card. Or because I’m in a single gfx card setup.
    Andrew, mind sharing your setup?
    Sascha, mind sharing your setup?

    Juan,

I have been waiting for Mavericks because of its extended openCL support. (But also not switching yet.) Without it Programs like Premiere won’t open. Are you using 10.9 drivers in your 10.85 build for Titan support?

Hmm.. prores is easier.. If you had to though…

    1. QTchange to batch change the prores to 00:00:00:00 TC
    2. QTchange to find some sort of file name pattern that you can duplicate with the raws. (i.e. day1 or camB or card4)
    3. Resolve sets TC to framecount (aka 00:00)
    4. Resolve enable reel names using a */%R pattern to match reel names. (i.e. put raw files in a folder called day1, etc.)

Thanks for the update Sasha. Anyone on Titan cards done the upgrade yet?

  • Made it through to about page 7 before giving up. I saw it asked about a dozen times with no answer, will this be avail in the SDK? (which I’m guessing is needed in order for resolve to use it.) Or is this hardcoded into RedcineX?

Looks like its basically a denoiser. I haven’t tried it, but the demo results look on par (if not less impressive) to re:vision fx denoise. Thats what I use, and its already OFX. Not that it will matter, as v10 should supposedly have a pretty awesome denoiser built in. So basically other than the speed at which it works, I don’t see a lot of motivation to jump on board.
