October 3, 2019 at 3:46 pm in reply to: Rendering a 1080p Composition down to lower resolution wrecks qualityA couple of things spring to mind. Have you tried switching renderers to Software? In Premiere, at least, I often find that text anti-aliasing is better with the Software renderer than the OpenCL or Metal.
Second, what about nesting your final render comp into one that is the native resolution you’re rendering to? I.E. rather than finishing in 1920×1080 and exporting to 720×404, make your final comp 720×404, and export at the comp’s intended resolution. That way you’re not introducing dithering during the render stage.

(Sigh) watching tutorials from 14-year-olds is always going to be a recipe for frustration.
I would bet that you’ve made the typical rookie mistake of not knowing what to attach your track point to. I imagine you’ve applied the tracking data to the Transform properties of the solid layer that your particle effect is on; what you need to do is attach the tracking data to the position of the particle emitter, and NOT the layer transformation properties.

September 12, 2019 at 11:07 pm in reply to: AUDIO PROBLEM! High Pitched Whining Noise in BackgroundThat’s nasty. I only heard one of the upper harmonics.
Premiere’s DeHummer effect might do the trick better, since it is able to handle multiple harmonics. It’s still not as good as clean audio, but it notches out the fundamental and its overtone series.

September 12, 2019 at 4:24 pm in reply to: AUDIO PROBLEM! High Pitched Whining Noise in BackgroundA simple notch filter will take care of the single high-pitched noise. Center it on the pitch, and narrow it as much as you can so it doesn’t affect the surrounding pitches. It won’t help with the lower-pitched AC rumble, though.

CC Light Rays does exactly this. You’ll just need to play with it a bit to get the rays going the right direction. If you set the shape to Square, you can choose the direction of the light.

August 23, 2019 at 6:28 pm in reply to: How do you maintain consistent stroke width on rotating 3D shape layer? You can’t. You need a real 3D model in a real 3D app to do this–and AE is only 2.5D: 2D planes in 3D space.

I’m thinking mainly about Auto Gain Control–that’s the one that can be really insidious. Or even setting the AGC limit to +0dB?

Everything including white balance? Inadvertently being on AWB would probably get you in trouble. What about auto ISO, or auto gain? Any kind of automatic highlight protection, or shadow corrections, or anything like that?

August 15, 2019 at 4:21 pm in reply to: How to avoid juddering in the rolling text in creditsThis is a really over-complicated solution. Just set two keyframes, and mess with the timing to get the roll length and speed. Then turn motion blur on.

August 6, 2019 at 10:17 pm in reply to: Google Earth Studio – make a 2D-element follow alongMocha would probably be your best tool to deal with this. A planar track would be ideal to match the surface, and wouldn’t require you to key out the objects–once you have the planar track, you can insert the element, draw the mask, and it will follow the size changes.
