Thanks Richard. In the time I had, I did not find a way to record brush strokes using a script.

I ended up dusting off a license I had for Painter. I remembered it had a robust brush recording button, and it did the trick nicely. Your reply jogged the memory and made me think of it.

    Hi Brian,

I use HDlog for almost all my studio jobs. The video assist function works well, and combined with the logger, make this a great solution. I shoot in HDCAM, and when I need to review clips for continuity, reviewing the HDlog clips beats reviewing material in the camera.

The guys at Imagine are great to work with, you won’t be sorry if you go this route.

…like I said – it had a line there where there should have been a number. Gotta think it was some very bad gremlins at work. 😉

Double check the same setting in Capture preset and Sequence Preset as well. I might have had a brain fade here…

I have a setting for my HDW-2000 as follows (same transport as the DVW-A500)

    Protcol: 422
    Mapping: 8 channels
    time source: LTC+VITC
    Port: Kona Serial
    Frame Rate: 29.97
    Default TC: Non-Drop
    check (use deck search)
    capture offset: 0
    handle: 0
    Playback offset: 0
    pre-roll: 3
    post-roll: 3
unchecked – auto record and PTV after

    Good luck –

    Hi Steve,

This happened to me the other day – real frustrating!

I found under the audio/video settings the device control preset had a blank entry for “Frame Rate”. I set it to 29.97 and all worked fine.

Don’t ask how that could be, but it was. It was right after I updated to the 6.0 drivers. My setup is the same as yours, but with an HDW-2000 HDCAM deck. I thought it was reference thing at first, and looked there, then went through the Kona CP, then finally found the odd setting in the FCP device control presets.

Hope your is the same and this fixes it for you.

You can check out Imagine Products – https://www.imagineproducts.com/

I use their stuff and you’d be very happy with it.

Check out HDLog, and the library program – Mac Clip Library.

Thanks Michael – I dropped a note to tech support and they responded right back with the patch.

Can you post the link? I’m having a similar trouble with a LHe showing random tape trouble errors on good tapes.

I couldn’t find the patch on the AJA site.

    Thanks,

I’ve used HDLog by Imagine Products for several years now. Great piece of software. Can’t recommend it enough.

I’ve used them as well for several systems. I had one problem and the support was great and they advanced replaced the memory without any trouble. I’d recommend them without issue.

I just picked up 8GB of RAM for my MacPro 8 core and it works great.
