Personally, I would love for them to use ProRes, or DVC Pro HD,
not trying to bash any of our clients too much, but some of them get a perception of what is quality, and they can’t get away from that.
For instance, a company I used to work for, had clients who would only cut on Avid. They knew the word Avid, and associated it with “quality”
At that shop, we had FCP, Media 100, and (fortunately) an Avid.
The FCP and M100 could easily have accomodated (source was Beta SP)
but they had to have the Avid.
I’m certain that the word “uncompressed” is being used in a similar vein as the old client and their obsession with “Avid”
So, we’re basically gearing up to be able to offer services to any client, regardless of their requirements…
