I’ve got the same problem… neither of the above posts seemed to solve the problem, but if you select the source footage, select “interpret footage” and then ok, the audio should return… unfortunately Premiere seems to crash if I interpret more than about 10 clips at once, and I have thousands in my timeline… time consuming pain-in-ass of a bug.

Thanks guys, it worked perfectly… oddly enough, after four hours of frustration, when I finally tried opening the footage in a different comoposition with exactly the same settings, keying worked perfectly… but your solutions worked out much better than a key.
