That is for my different ‘real’ mac at work. I am using a hackintosh for the mac in question, same software, same render presets, same codecs.

Just rendered a 5 min h264 shot on h264 Canon 5D and it took about ten min:

Here are my specs at work:

Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro5,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 8 MB
Memory: 32 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s

I’m also using a quadcore at home, so not sure where the problem lies.

In my previous post I mentioned I was using OS, Mac. It’s a hackintosh, also as I stated above.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I tried that. Exporting with the Nodes 2 effects (By Yanobox) and without, and it was roughly the same amount of time. I am going to try the same Non-effect export at work, and see the results. It’s a custom built Hackintosh, so I’m worried my friend who did the OS install may have not configured something correctly.

Will report updates when I try it out.

But with an i7, shouldn’t it be a bit faster? I’ve heard a single i7 is faster than two xeons..
