February 3, 2015 at 10:08 am in reply to: How to control the exact amount of vertices for a spline?OK, yes that solved the problem! Thanks a lot! Well here comes a new question in the same topic. If I add a target camera to the helix spline and animate it so it orbit 360 degrees around the object in the middle of the helix. Then I can see how the rotation coordinates for the camera is changing when it orbits. I now need to connect this information to vertices in some kind of line and there after export it to g-code. I cant use the timeline in this case because the camera is a target camera so it rotates automatic and therefore wont appear in the timeline. I know that aftereffects can handle this kind of situations, like connect a function to a changing value with a pickwip or so but is this possible in cinema 4D?
Or if it is possible to transform the values directly to a txt-file.

February 2, 2015 at 8:24 am in reply to: How do I increase the segments of a spline circle?Hello, I have kind of the same problem, but I need to control the exact mount of vertices on the splines in cinema 4d. So if I had for example an helix spline, I want it to have for example 241 vertices, is there a way to make this happen? The reason for this is that I later on shall transform the splines to g-code and control a cnc camera control system for my DSLR. Every vertex will be a position for the camera.

Hello and thx again for the time you spend on this problem! Well I tried the new way and I think it is something basic stuff I am doing the wrong way… If I pickwhip the “disperse” with the placehoder slider then I got the yellow slider value (5,00) to turn red as it should. But then it is just the text “effect(“Form”)(“Disperse”)”. When I ad the rest of the text as in the screen dump you posted the value turns yellow again and afx gives me two error messages:
I have tried a couple of different things but I wont get it to work… When I try it now it works like the normal random(5,10) expression.
Thanks again for your time //Bengt

Hello, and thx again for helping me! I am very new to expressions so I think I fail in the most easiest steps… I tried to do what you told me: I created a Placeholder (file-import-Placeholder) I added an slider to it. I put the placeholder over the effect (form) in the timeline. But where you wright “your effect name here” I wonder if I should use the pickwip to get it right? It is “disperse” in the effect form that I want to change. If I pickwip it it givs me this text string:(thisComp.layer(“form 2”).effect(“Form”)(“Disperse”) I tried to paste that in where it says(“Your effect name here”. Then afx says “Bad argument: effect () index out of range Expression disabled.
Do you have any tip for me?
Thanks//Bengt

Hello thx for the answer, I did what you told me but I did not see any difference between how it was in the first case…

Hello, the first alternative, I want the expression to avoid repeating the same value (and the value which is one over and one under) in two consecutive frames. But I want the expression to go on “forever” so the same value can exist many times but not in a row.

February 20, 2014 at 8:44 pm in reply to: Trapcode Form I got Faded particles in the edgesHello, yes that is true or at least use to be, but now I have tried the different settings of the layers for a long time with out no result… But when I changed the settings in form: Layer Maps – Color and Alpha – Lightness to A —> to RGB to RGB my problem was solved. But the happiness ran out when I changed particle types from sphere to Sprite because I want to have small images as particles. Than form spread the particles all over the screen and did not understand that it should keep it in the white area. But with sphere it worked perfectly fine. It is probably some lame thing that I not have understood, but that’s the way it is. Please help me 🙂
