    I’m still on Yosemite…

Do you think it might be the JPEG sequence? Maybe the codec is super hard for premiere to read? I dunno. I’m scratching my head gear. I have to constant restart my computer. I try to render, it doesn’t freeze, but the tender us halted. I have to quit premiere, which then causes it to freeze. Then restart the computer, I can then get a good 20-30 working minutes out of it. Then back to problems.

I think that’s what I tried to do. I right clicked on the clip(s) and chose change source folder. I picked the actual folder and it wouldn’t relink. A few clips (from different rolls) did relink that way. But there was one roll that refused and I had to do each clip manually by re-importing and force conforming.

    I’m still on 11…

    Maybe it’s time to upgrade?

  • I’m having a slightly similar issue. My TL works fine, then suddenly stops. I can sometimes here audio but not see picture. Other times I push play and nothing happens. Everything else in the project works fine but I can not for the life of me get my TL to play.

  • Hi Dave I’m giving it a go and not having much success.

I created a new comp, added the psd File, resized it using the transform tool, then brought that composition into the working composition and I had no success.

Once I add the photoshop layer to a nested composition, do I make the dimensions of the psd file much higher or the dimensions of the AE comp?

I tried to add Grow Bounds to the PSD clip as well and it didn’t help.

    Let me know your thoughts,
    Thanks!

November 6, 2015 at 12:01 am in reply to: Basic Shot Matching

    Hi Glenn,

Yes, that is EXACTLY what I did with the last node. I didn’t do split screen, just reference wipe back and forth. For some reason, every time I go into split screen, after selecting the correct shot, and grading it, when I playback my timeline it always seems to have shifted something else. So being frustrated I left it alone…

Shots are all cut between wide n close… No jump cuts at all… Also cut to a ton of b-roll narrative shots in between.

I isolated the skin and added a power window, then I tried to add pink with the gamma wheel, then push towards orange, then Id play around with those same color combinations in the opposite direction with the gain wheel until I got as close as I could without going FULL JERSEY SHORE, sometimes having to revert back to green when things got too intense. Finally when I got in the color ball park ish, I’d drop down the saturation, because every time the colors got way too intense. I still haven’t learned how to properly grade skin tones.

But you and Marc have both eased my worries, hopefully once this video hits the web and iPhones fingers crossed that nobody will pay attention to the color shifts.

Once again, thank you for the tip earlier. I’m going to religiously use that as a grading technique matching shots before I do a contrast adjustment. That was a HUGE tip.
